Workshops
Overview
Nassau Facilitation Services offers a menu of talent development workshops. All trainings are interactive, energizing, and hands-on. Our learn-by-doing our approach involves role play, coaching, humor, music, TV sitcoms, discussion and small group work—as well as in-depth Q&A. We keep our workshops brain friendly and practical without dumbing down the content or teaching. During Covid-19, most trainings are Zoom-based.​

Workshop Options:
De-Escalation 101
Our de-escalation trainings get participants to approach conflict with new skills to de-escalate charged interactions and defuse high emotion. Drawing on years of experience training law enforcement, this workshop teaches why conflict escalates, how to reduce tension, establish calm, and slow down fast-moving disputes.​

Conflict Mediation
Learn to design a mediation process that treats team conflict as an opportunity rather than an obstacle. Hone your facilitation skills to address differences, disagreements and discord. Participants will walk away knowing how to moderate hard conversations that address underlying issues and move parties to creative solutions.
Breaking the Feedback Loop
Feedback should feel like a gift. And yet, it rarely does. Learn how to share critical feedback that draws on team members’ strengths, fosters buy-in, and helps chart action-oriented performance support. Trainees will also learn a framework for receiving feedback so that they can participate and make an often one-sided process a two-way street of effective action planning.
Instructional Design for S.M.A.R.T.I.E.S.
This training teaches your team the art of creating exciting curriculum. It draws on a SMART framework for achieving outcome-oriented workshops and adds inclusion and equity as a core component. Participants will walk away with a methodology for curriculum planning and instructional design that is adaptable for a range of planning needs, including team retreats, staff onboarding, and events.
Customized Service
All training sessions vary based on client needs, from an introductory one-hour session to a multi-session package that dives into topics with greater depth. All sessions come with an optional 'after class' discussion for additional questions, supplementary reading, and a resource guide for ongoing learning.
